During these two terms, additional funding was secured for the development of the University exceeding more than double of the government funding for operational expenses during this period. 6,300,000 euros relate to the purchase of a new building, 6,500,000 to the purchase of laboratory equipment and 5,500,000 to the maintenance and upgrading of infrastructure. The number of faculty positions increased by 28%, while the number of appointed faculty by 20%. The total number of administration staff of the University doubled, while the number of permanent administrative staff increased by 50%. New services were established and staffed, enhancing the University ‘s impact and strengthening the services provided, such as:

  • the Student Service Center, acting as a single student service spot, hosting all student services in an exclusive, renovated building in the main campus,
  • the Foreign Language Center, providing foreign language courses to all students and Greek language courses to international students,
  • the “Aikaterini Maridaki-Kassotaki” Student and Staff Support Center, caring for mental support, learning difficulties or disabilities, and gender and inclusion policy implementation.
  • the Science4Live Center for Responsible and Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Innovation, targeting technology transfer and promoting entrepreneurship education and culture to students. The Center participates in the ARCHIMEDES consortium and in the technology transfer network of Greek Universities and Research Centers.

The development and internationalization strategy of the Institution was established, through an open participating process, identifying International, Research and Sustainable University as its main pillars. The digital identity of the University and its presence in social networks was promoted. The Quality Assurance Unit was upgraded and staffed, while quality monitoring procedures were integrated in all activities. The University enrolled in international ranking lists for the first time, such as Times Higher Education in which the University has been ranked in the top three Universities of the country since 2020.

All the University's infrastructure was upgraded in terms of energy efficiency, and the goal for a sustainable University was prescribed and cultivated, using the Smart Campus infrastructure installed in both University campuses.

The purchase of the new building at 4 Omirou Street, directly opposite the University building at 9 Omirou Street, completed in August 2024, expanded the University’s modern campus at Tavros, significantly increasing available space and ensuring further development of the Institution. The detailed report is available here (in Greek) and in https://30anniversary.hua.gr.
